LaFoy called the meeting to order at 7:30 A.M., welcomed guest speaker David
Bartram and turned the meeting over to him.
David
Bartram gave a presentation on Sustainability of the Region along with a slide
presentation.

The Regional Growth Monitoring Advisory Committee is a Regional Board
appointed committee of nine residents and 2 Board directors. Bill Holdom, Chair
and David Bartram,Co-chair. Adele
McKillop is the ODCA representative on the Advisory Committee.

Purpose:
o
Assess the regions progress towards sustainability.
o
Make residents aware of sustainability.
o
More and better opportunities.
o
Provide information for future Regional Growth Strategy initiatives.
·
Sustainability Workshop held on April 3rd was very successful
with 150 participants. The report
on the workshop is on the RDN Website to view.
Bill Holdom opened the workshop with a presentation on current activities
of the RDN to advance sustainability. Mike Harcourt gave a presentation on planning for long-term
sustainability and Mark Holland gave a presentation on about how sustainability
could be advanced in the region. Small
group facilitated discussions and exercises for the participants envision of:

Environment
o
Economy
o
Social

A follow up report from the workshop was presented and adopted at the
September 14th Board Meeting.

David Bartram would like to see the ODCA become involved:
